Fri Oct 15, 6: The best option is to get a ExpressCard Parallel port adapter. Same copy of the attachment ejjtag. Laptops don't normally have parallel ports anymore, and if your laptop doesn't you would be hooped.

Fri Oct 15, Again, if you have a CFE on the router, utiliyy don't need to flash the kernel with Jtag. Cable too long - Similar to electrical interference. Even having your computer monitor too close can cause bad information and ruin the flash. Fri Nov 05, 0: Sun Nov 14, 0: You don't need to jtag the nvram.

You should not need to do this. The reason for this is if the kernel and nvram are left intact and only the CFE bootloader is replaced, when the bootloader boots the device, it will load the kernel.

Don't know if I wired it right or maybe I am doing something utikity. Finally, I debricked my router using serial conenction and by pressing ctrl-c and then by uploading firmware using tftp.

Hopefully someone can help me out, as a search has not yielded my specific situation. You might have to set the parallel port communications settings, but I have always found default dberick work.

It is important to know, that if you do need to replace the CFE, an erase of wholeflash should be done prior to flashing the CFE. Do not turn it off until it does that.

Stop and try that. Others have a surface mount fuse. You have to, on a Windows system, load giveio. I checked each pin on the router to ensure I had 3. Linksys left out 4 resistors in the jtag circuit. This is what you flash when you flash debrifk. That is why it is so important not to ever delete this without backing it up. That's a good indication that your resistor or soldered bridge was done correctly.
